Rationale
Explain why you choose the idea that you are taking forward and any changes that you would make after feedback.
The reason why I choose the idea, don’t let your past determine your future is because the idea is a touching subject aimed at ex-offenders who want a chance to make something of themselves. With this idea I am able to depict an interesting topic to its aimed audience about not allowing a persons past to determine there future. The use of techniques such as slow paced editing, long shots, close ups will add to the intensity of the message. The message of this video gives off an element of seriousness to the audience which is the reason why I chose this sought of idea as opposed to CV writing or dos and don’ts of an interview. I received good feedback from this idea, which is why I have chosen to take it forward. The idea of this video is to allow the target audience to understand that they are also able to seek employment regardless of there past and that the YP employment website has various ways to help those in need. My idea shows that YP employment dig deeper into helping young people find employment by understanding that ex-convicts deserve to be successful and employed if they are willing to make a change.
It has been noted from my swot analysis that this idea is very unique. Therefore I will be making improvements to the video such as the order in which the story goes in. I will be adding more to the mans story and illustrating this through showing clips of the man from his violent past as a young ,misled teenager to a successful head teacher in his work element. I received feedback about the setting of the video and issues finding an office. Due to this I changed the occupation of the successful man to a head teacher to suit the setting of a school to film in. These are the changes I would make after feedback to improve my video. These changes would contribute to the clarity of the message I am trying to send out to my target audience who are ex-offenders. Overall I am content with the idea I chose because it is unique and has a distinctive, motivational message to it. I am targeting a very different audience with a different motive in mind. This ultimately would attract a wider audience to the YP employment website.
