Jonoknife Evaluation
The brief for the Jonoknife project was to produce a commercial video for a product called the Jonoknife. This project was set to illustrate how to Jonoknife operates as well as the variety of bread it is able to cut. The target audience for the Jonoknife was adults from 18-50. This is because some people prefer to manually cut their bread as well as make there own bread.
For this task secondary research was taken. We were given a task to research a variety of bread cutters. Through this research I was able to collect quantitative data about the prices and packaging of each bread cutter. This research informed my programme, as I was able to gain an understanding of the quantitative details of a normal bread slicer. It also informed me that majority of bread slicers are electronically based.
For the Jonoknife project we produced a storyboard to visually give us an idea of how we should produce our video. Producing a storyboard made the process very easy for my group to assemble the footage I and myself produced as we referred to the storyboard whenever it was time for a new scene as well as the duration of the scene and the type of shot we wanted to use.
Whilst doing this project I developed editing software skills as my group and myself used Premier Pro to produce this video. Through using this I was able to see the differences with all the editing software’s I have used such as IMovie, and Final Cut Pro. My editing skills improved, as I was able to use fast pace editing to produce an effective commercial with an upbeat instrumental in the background. My management for this project was not the best because our production was not produced on time. I think that my group met the group well as the video was short, precise and visually creative. Text was included in sync with the continuous beat of the instrumental. In order to improve, a self-produced instrumental could have been used to show understanding and skills being developed.
